Frequently Asked Questions

Is this site free?
Yes, there are no fees at all for using this site. We do not charge for you to create a webpage, and we do not take a percentage of the donations that you get. We make money from the advertisements on the site.

How do I get the money that people donate to me?
When you create a page on our site, it will have a Paypal donation button built into it. You need to setup a free account at Paypal.com to accept these donations. Paypal will deposit the donations directly into your checking account at your existing bank. Paypal does not charge you any setup fees or monthly fees, and there are no transaction fees to accept payments from their 100 million members, as long as you are signed up for a "Personal Account". If you signup for a "Premier" or "Business" account, it will allow you to also accept all major credit cards for the donations, but Paypal charges a fee of approximately 3% of the money you receive. To use Paypal on your DigitalCharities.com page, we just need to know your Paypal account address, which is the same as the email address you used when you signed up for Paypal.

Is this site for US residents only?
No, as long as you have a Paypal account you can use our site. Payapl offers service in 55 countries.

How will I know if I get a donation?
Paypal will send you an email notification that you have received a donation.

Will I be able to thank the person making the donation?
Yes, your Paypal account will show you their email address.

How do I get listed in your directory of donation pages at DigitalCharity.com?
After you fill out the page creation form, your donation page will instantly be created and start working. It will also be listed in our directory (on our main page at DigitalCharity.com) right away. We also manually review all the pages that are created and delete any that have obscene or offensive content.

How can I get people to donate money to me?
Promote the donation page that we create for you in as many places as possible, such as blogs, search engines, forums, and other websites. Keep in mind that you must follow the rules of the sites you post to, so for example spamming your DigitalCharity URL is prohibited. Spamming means posting your URL multiple times to the same place or in places that do not allow you to post it. Spamming your URL be email is also not allowed. Any user who violtes these rules will have their DigitalCharity.com account terminated.

You will also get people looking at your page because you are listed in the DigitalCharity.com directory, which gets thousands of visitors per day.

How do I edit my donation site?
You can login on our site at any time and make edits to your page. You can also delete your page whenever you want.

How long does my site stay up?
All pages will automatically be deleted from our server after 1 year, although you can always create a new page for free after that. You can also login into your account within 30 days of the expiration date, and extend the expiration date for another year at no charge.

Who do I contact if I have any problems with the site?

Please Note: This page is provided as a free service to help the person listed on this page raise money. Any donations you make go directly to them (via Paypal.com ) and we do not make any money from this part. We make our money from the banner ads on this site. DigitalCharity.com is not responsible for the content of this page and has no way to guarantee the accuracy of any of the information shown. We do try to manually review each site before publishing it to make sure it is not obscene or offensive.

Important Warning: Only accept donations through your Paypal account. Do not take donations by money order, check, or wire. Almost every time this is a scam. Also, don't give potential donors any of your financial information or your Social Security number. We have had many reports of scammers saying they will mail you a money order or write an online check, but then they steal money from you. Many times they promise to send you a money order but you need to "share" it by sending money back to them or to somebody else. Do not fall for these scams no matter how real they sound. Also, do not contact any of the people offering loans on this site. All of these postings are total scams. They either require an up front free, and then just take your money, or they get your personal info from you and then steal your money. And, we have been made aware of many fraudulent postings pretending to represent Joyce Meyer Ministries or other large religious organizations. Another fraud involves someone contacting you and saying they will help you through Paypal, but it is really them scamming someone else into buying something and putting it into your paypal account, and then they want you to withdraw the money keeping some and sending the rest to somebody else in need (like through Western Union).
